Shast is resident alien to the city of Seattle in the state of emergency, I meant the state of Washington (not D.C., for you geopgraphical experts out there!)
I have a three year old baby boy wich is typically the reason that I can get up every morning. He is my life right now, quickly becoming a part of this music thing we call Hip Hop. Generation Next Yall! Hey G!
Other then that I am constantly in the Fallout Shelter creating new music. Like most artists I have been a hermit for the duration of that time period. But that is all about to change with my debut album release "THINKIN' CHAIR" through Fallout Shelter Procutions coming soon, and upcoming shows with several other independent artists like myself such as The Thurd III, The Movement, Elite One, and SuNspot Jonz, Eligh, and Aesop from the Living Legends. Why this name?
It is kind of an abreviated version of a nickname given to me by some of my friends/relatives.(Lance, Deanna, Kai, Shane.)
Do you play live?
Yes I play live shows most of my bookings have been in the central cali area though, depsite the fact that I live in Seattle, Wa. Im from the valley. I dont have any special moments/things happen yet I guess, but one is coming up, I managed to get the chance to perform with a few members of the Living Legends, thats gunna be in early 2005 and should be dope.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Most definetly, I think that the internet has revolutionized music and the ability to be heard by the common masses as a choice as opposed to being forced to hear the same four songs on the radio, look at soundclick.com for example.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No. Someone once told me this and I quote, "There are two kinds of people in this world, the person that signs thier name on the front of the check, and the people that sign thier names on the back of the check, Take your pick."
Band History:
Fallout Shelter Productions is typically only two people, Shast(myself,emcee/producer) and Jake Ruse(the homie,emcee/producer). Technically started back in 97-98, but we will call it 2002. Fallout Shelter was started from scratch, I used Kazaa to download the demo versions of thousands of dollars of software, then I used a password/serial cracker to turn them into the full versions, hence saving so far about two grand in pro audio alone. Now the Fallout Shelter is growing at an unstoppable rate. After literally years of building, beats, lyrics, ideas, artwork, etc. Now in late 2004/early 2005
Shast is ready to release his full length debut album "Shast -4- Prez!" thru Fallout Shelter Productions in early 2005. LOOK FOR IT!!!
