Why this name?
In high school, Chrissy and I used to page each other so we can do some things (we we're bad.) My code was 83, hers 64.
Do you play live?
My wife currently sings with a gospel group. She plays the bass also. I currently have no live gigs but do play the drums and tenor saxophone.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's good because you can reach so many people effortlessly just by hitting up the site. If you have internet access, you have the world at your finger tips, almost literally. At the same time there's pirating, and that's not good.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Tough one. As far as wanting to pay bills and things like that, I we would probably sign the dotted line quick. But with contracts like that, you end up binded to a situation that always ends ugly (I watch VH1!) Artist these days seem to all want to go Independant because they get the rights to just about everything. I'm a producer, I heard that a different set of rules apply to us and that we get to call more of the shots.
Band History:
My wife and I met each other in High School. She was in the choir and I was in the orchestra band. We both later joined the jazz band. To this day, that was the sickest band I.ve ever been in. See, alot of these kids attended the churches around the neighborhood. So the choir and jazz band mainly consisted of church singers and musicians that have been doing what they do since they were little. 14, 15, 16 year old kids singing and playing like grown cats. It's was funny, cause at school competitions bands would come in with uniforms on, playing big band selections and whatever, they sounded good! But here we come with baggy jeans on, Timbalands, chewing on gum (a no-no before playing wind and brass instruments), talking loud, beep-boxing, we were a mess. Then when it came time to perform, we'd hit 'em with some Weather Report, Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, Anita Baker and so on. We'd kill 'em with more rhythm minded jazz. Man I'm way off track.
Anyway, my wife and I played in the high school jazz band and, as well as being interested in each other, had the same musical interests also.
Now we're at this point, decided to invest in some gear and now we're trying to make moves.

Your influences?
I could go on and on here. My dad exposed me to all types of music, from Journey and Eddie Rabbit to Cameo and Slave. Out of all genres, i've taken a liking to fusion jazz (Yellow Jackets), Urban Contemperary (Mint Condition), Neo soul (Music), Grundge (Nirvana), Classical, really I have no perticular favorite, just what am I in the mood for. Of course, I'm a young cat, so I love underground hip-hop. Alot of the new stuff out is all flash and no substance. These cats need to study DeLa Soul, Tribe Called quest, The Roots, Ice Cube (his older stuff 91-95), Common, Snoop (older stuff), Wu-Tang (R.I.P. Ol' Dirty Bastard), and so on. Pac and Biggie also (R.I.P) I'm 26 now, so maybe I just crossed the mental line and just don't understand what these younger people are saying. I appreciate cats like Little Brother who are trying to keep it true. Hip hop is in disarray now.
Favorite spot?
I'm from Portland, OR., baby! Ain't really been nowhere else.
