Welcome to QPD! I am a Saxophonist from Blackfoot territory, who plays everything from Jazz/Blues to Celtic. Travelling throughout North America with a saxophone on my knee (and in the overhead compartments of planes, trains, and automobiles), I have been involved with stage, concert, and marching bands, and symphony orchestras. I'm currently stretching my wings as a solo artist.
Why this name?
That is, and will remain a mystery...if you can figure out what a QPD is, then let me know..
Do you play live?
I can be found playing my sax on just about any street corner in Halifax, and at various open mic nights. Special moment was the day I got over my stage fright (I vomited on stage). How did this get over my stage fright you ask? Well, I figure nothing worse could ever happen to me..(LOL).
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it does a lot for artists in terms of exposure.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
nope. I want to remain independent.
Band History:
QPD is the artist behind the label, he's a saxophonist, who plays everything from Celtic to Blues. QPD has his own independent label, Plaid Triangle Entertainment, does his own distribution and marketing,in Eastern Canada.
Your influences?
I have been told that I sound like Kenny G, thought my influences are more like Enya, Grover Washington, John Coltrane, Dermott O'Reilly, Louis Armstrong Red Nichols, and Loreena McKennit
Favorite spot?
Cree Country!
Equipment used:
ten fingers, one mouth, many reeds of varying strengths and qualities, one (two, when I get my other one out of the shop) saxophone, digital music, and the great outdoors!
