18 Speed Tranny was formed by Ken Harlev (Vocals/Guitar) in 1999 and ventured thru musicians to come up with a solid line up of Kris Wojtyla (Bass Guitar) and Tom Crone (Drums). A commonality between all members to create Ass Kickin - In Your Face FAT Rock n Roll has lead to numerous Originals and a growing presence in the Chicago Music Scene.
Influenced by 70's acid rock/metal, 80's heavy/speed metal, 90's grunge and some of todays best bands, 18 Speed Tranny has a solid foundation in the best heavy rock ever created. We have a no frills approach that speaks to our attitude that "If it doesen't have Heart, Groove, and a Great Riff to begin with no amount of production will make it worth while".

We continue to push forward with all 3 band members contributing on writing new material and not limiting ourselves to one specific style of Rock n Roll. We are always listening and taking in as much as we can to reach for that ultimate creativeness!!
