We play as many gigs as we can around Leicester, Derby, Nottingham area at the moment - always looking for new places to play and new bands to play with.

Despondent spawned through the creative songwriting of Reuben, his solid musical partnership with Bass Virtuoso Luke and Nik's Collossal Rhythms.

Despondent developed their sound so every song had its own character, but worked hard to maintain a distinctive character throughout.

They have just finished recording their first album Proud to Fail which is due for release December 16th.

Despondent have been influenced by the skatepunk from the 90s and 2000s from labels like Epitaph, Fat Wreck, Burning Heart, Lookout etc. and bands such as Lagwagon, Pulley, Slick Shoes, NOFX, Offspring, Rancid, Bouncing Souls.
