Band History:
Bio of This Illusion
This Illusion formed May 2003 with one thing in common; the hunger to perform music that is exciting, explosive & dynamic. A band that’s dedicated, will turn heads & capture wide audiences. This Illusion got to work writing songs straight away & recorded their self-titled debut EP at the end of September 2003 in Premier Studios (Corby, UK) with producer Iain Wetherell (Released through Casket Records (CSK027) on May 17th 2004).
This was followed up with a 3 track single - ‘Not Just Listening’. Produced by Rick Parkhouse at RNT studios (Dorset, UK). Released via Casket Music (cat. no.CSK042) May 23rd 2005.
Each individual incorporates their own range of influences into the band; an attitude & passion that creates a captivating, diverse blend that is ‘This Illusion’. Their genre shattering sound is derived from equal parts punk/metal/hardcore & the band is not about to conform to one style, playing what they want to play with NO compromises. All the members of This Illusion previously performed in various bands, recording & touring not only throughout the UK but the entire world. This experience gave the band a platform to discover their own style, allowing them to experiment with their creativity.
UK quartet This Illusion release their debut, self titled EP on Casket Music on July 14 2004. Featuring 5 tracks, and produced by Iain Wetherell at Premier Studios (Corby, UK) it shows a band who are equal parts punk, rock, metal and hardcore!
The fluid combination of bludgeoning riffery and unpretentious melody gives rise to another truly exciting addition to the current rock renaissance.
Despite a thundering intensity and plenty of heavy guitar work, This Illusion never lose sight of ‘the song’, keeping their efforts streamlined and melodically engaging.
Definitely ones to watch!
