I, Sore Thumb, am now what you listen to. You should probably list me among your favorite bands on myspace, and also make one of my songs play automatically and bother people who visit.
Why this name?
I do not blend in well, visully, socially, or sonically.
Do you play live?
I am available to play live at any location on the globe as long as I can responsibly spare the time. All I ask is as much money as it takes to transport me there from Litchfield Minnesota (Or Roseville Minnesota in the event of I'm at school at the time.)
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
People can find and listen to awesome ol' me.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes. No matter how lousy the contract was.
Band History:
1986: I was born.

Early 1990's: Got my first DC Talk album, and was thus introduced to hip-hop music

1997: Began playing trumpet

2002: Heard John Reuben's "Hindsight" album began to recognize hip-hop as a viable art form. Performed original material onstage for the first time at a kiddie Christmas pageant

2003: Performed "Jesus Freak" with "The Nude Kitties" at Power in the Park. Took on the name "Sore Thumb"

2004: Played "Power in the Park" again, this time I played trumpet with "Hero Inside." Aquired the bare minimum equipment needed to record my own songs. Began work on my first album.

2005: Got onstage at a John Reuben concert, and performed the first verse of "Thumbs Up, Hands Down"

2006: Completed "A Declaration of Thumb War" album. Played two shows so far this year.
Your influences?
Oddly enough, Steve Taylor, a new-wave artist who gradually moved on to more tolerable forms of rock in the early nineties is my biggest influence. He was a Christian, yet he produced compelling material.

John Reuben is also a huge influence, partially because me and him are practically chummy. Gorillaz also influence me a lot, because seriously they are the coolest virtual band except for The Electric Mayhem, and my guilty pleasure is the Transplants. Not for the gangster cliches and the cussing though.
Favorite spot?
I dunno...I'm from Litchfield Minnesota, if that helps.
Equipment used:
Fruity Loops 4, Blue Snowball USB microphone.
Anything else...?
To those of you who are not Christians: I am a Christian, and sometimes I sing about Christian things. This is something that you may have to deal with. I assure you, though, I am not like the Christian rockers/rappers that you have heard before who are not very good (because I am good)

To those of you who are Christians: Sometimes I rap about stupid things that do not have a point. This is something that you may need to deal with.
