Alright, heres the downlow on how we got started up.
It all started with two bands: Exit 9 and BFD. Erik and a few of his buddies stared Exit 9 in their early years and that band lugged along for about two years. When highschool started, Exit 9 found Mike at a show they played. He played in the band on and off for about a year. Finally Erik decided to call it quits entirely with the band when Mike left agian to join Checkpoint, because the two other members either lacked in interest or were not in agreement with the style of music Erik was writing.
As for BFD, Max's old band, they all loved the music they were playing and stuck together for about a year. Only problem was, was that no one in the band could really write music. That band came to an abrubt stop when Erik met Max walking through the halls of the academy.
Erik was looking for a new band, and said if they had an open spot, he'd like to play. The singer of BFD was not the greatest, so Erik ended up taking his spot, as well as playing lead guitar. The original guitarist of BFD was moving to St Charles so it was a must that he parted with the band as well. This is where old friend Mikey came in. Mikes band Checkpoint didnt last for very long so Mike was on the hunt to find a band as well. After sorting through their differences, and forgeting the break ups and make ups of their old band Exit 9, Erik invited Mike to be a part of the band. This band, starting fresh with a new name, Split Decision, was forming nicely and they were writing lots of music and playing shows at venues such as Wheaton Grand Theater, North beach, and Brickhouse Pizza. They were still slightly lacking in a few spots. Bass, and vocals. They found a talented bassist by the name of Wilson Rondini IV who just happened to be Erik's cousin. They knew, though the original bassist was a great guy, that the switch had to be made. At this point, they were having trouble with copyrights, because the name Split Decision was already occupied. Thinking on their feet, knowing they couldnt afford to be nameless in their starting phase, they named the band WAITING FOR WILSON. Then they said, "Wait, we need a singer because Erik just isnt the outstanding vocalist we need!" They frantically started thinking of people and Wil brought up his buddy Liam. All they heard were good reports about him. They brought him to a practice and he enjoyed the music and the rest of the guys knew he'd complete the band. They are currently teaching Liam the songs and theyre playing a lot of shows in the local scene, the biggest being at Congress Theater in downtown Chicago.
