Small Town Secret, a Chicago area rock band formed July 2004... technically. Although Small Town Secret is fresh name in the local rock scene, its members have earned their respective notoriety, each having played about in various groups.

To Guitarist/Vocalist Jordan Johnson, nothing has ever been more important than music. Making it, reading about it, or just dwelling on the tune stuck in his head, it has become his driving force. Jordan has been playing guitar with various others for well over half of his life, acquiring thorough understandings of recording, musical structure and composition all the while. Now twenty-three, hot, and deeply engorged in the guts of Rock and Roll, Jordan’s tremendous stockpile of tricks, licks, and all-around musical know-how have come together and rendered a proficient musician. Jordan’s feeling toward Small Town Secret, as a whole is simple: “You got what I need.”

With Fingers of Fury and a thumb made of solid gold, Small Town Secret bassist, Aynsley Rutledge does part in completing the band’s dynamic sound. This player prides himself on his fluency in nontraditional techniques and is a powerhouse generations in the making. Six strings give Rutledge all the room necessary to melodically molest an often shocked set of onlookers.

Long-time percussion enthusiast turned extra ordinaire, Marcus Harman, has endured a life of rigorous training, all leading up to his role in Small Town Secret. Hungry for possibilities, Marcus feeds on a wide array of styles on his quest for ultimate perfection. In a world often seemingly filled with mediocrity, Marcus’s undeniable intensity penetrates listeners’ ears, as his unstoppable energy is thrust from behind the set, directly into listener’s....you name it.

Small Town Secret has performed at Lake Forest College, The Wooden Nickel and Teddy O’Brians in Highwood,IL. They have performed at the Harbor House and Brat Stop, as well as the Cicero Neighborhood Block party. The bands next goal? Rock Chicago fans till their bones ring.
