I am a songwriter with demos of my work. I have been a staff writer for an established Nashville publisher, and I have several songs on contract with major publishers. I have also been teaching songwriting since 1993 for the Dayton/Cincinnati area in affiliation with the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI).
Why this name?
The name is my own.
Do you play live?
I sometimes play at the Clermont Inn in Batavia, Ohio, and at the Night Sky in Troy, Ohio. I also play frequently at my church, SouthBrook Christian Church in Centerville, Ohio.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The ability to exchange music files easily has a particularly huge effect on the creative background of the industry. Long-distance collaboration has come about as close to face-to-face as it is likely to get in the near future.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'm not interested in a career as an artist.
Your influences?
John Lennon and Paul McCartney, Jim Croce, John Denver, Dan Fogelberg, Billy Joel, Paul Simon, Hugh Prestwood and Richard Leigh (professional songwriters), Kenny Rankin.
