Have played music in one way or another as long as I can remember.
Was a church trombonist for years, but got into building and playing harps and it quickly went up from there. It was quite an experience.I play traditional Christian hymns along with some classical and folk music where it seems t fit in.
For a longer concert, I can play about three hymns and then need to do something else, so, I play more in improvisation; so as to speak to the audience between the hymns. Then perhaps finish with 2 or three hymns. A few people would sit for hours and listen.
Play mostly for very small groups, at hospital.
When you play accousticly, there is a certain carring that is not there when one amps up plays over whatever confusion is there.

Why this name?
Like a china shop, with musical selections like pieces of ware to be protected from the original inspiration to the end result. The homemade harps are also a bit like pieces of china in that the shape of each harp was according to my choosing. It's sort of like the face of a plate representing something pure and uncorrupted from fearful conformity to something impure. A really fine woman, I think, with uncut hair and a very modest dress and a sober plain face- might be compared to a china plate.
Do you play live?
My right hand has limited use, but have played well enough to play at a hospital and hospice. I was also successful at a nursing home until a woman requested Amazing grace and sang.- then half of of the people left.
I was buiding a few lap zithers with 10 strings and eventually had success with one of them in a psych ward. While playing Amazing Grace one on one, a patient broke down and cried saying "you comfort me", I was encouraged much. Someone later reminded me of David playing his harp for King Saul. I can't praise God enough.
At breadline, a woman said that her grandfather died three years ago and asked that I play something for him. I played Sweet Hour of Prayer and she cried while I was playing it. Playing in a hospice, a man came out of his room with a robe on, and asked me what type of place is this? I replied that it was a hospice. He asked "what is that?", and then after I told him, he went back into his room and 5 minutes later, walked of with his hospital robe on. It appears that he received a strong touch of healing. I don't think they put him in there drunk. Praise God!

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I suppose now that has already been seen: more online downloads.
For amature music, there is much more competition on the internet now,
also from professionals.
It is hard to buy CD's now days, I think. You need more thar ever to know
what your buying. Some now a days don't even tune up good.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I don't think so.
Band History:
Was a church trombonist for years, paying a Bach Stradivarius 42.
When I had still had only one front upper tooth left in 1980-82, the sound was great. When I heard 1 Kings Ch. 13 preached, feeling convicted, the tooth broke the next day. I had a dream of a goldfish dying, then I woke and saw a fish laying on the bottom take a last breath and float to the top of the acquarium.
Right after that, the tooth broke off! It did not end my gifted trombone playing, but the great sound wasn't there any more.
I was buiding a few lap zithers with 10 strings.
Eventually had success with one of them in a psych ward. While playing Amazing Grace one on one, a patient broke down and cried saying "you comfort me", I was encouraged.
Someone later gave me the scripture telling of David playing his harp for King Saul. I can't praise God enough.
Then I began to build floor harps, each one better that the previous one.
The first real harp I built was for a woman dying of cancer who offered to pay me for time and materials to build her a regular harp.
I built two and kept one for myself.
If anyone on the internet had an experience like mine, they didn't speak up. I spoke up and let people make fun of me, because I am not ashamed of my work with harps.

Your influences?
A large musical top with a plunger that had a wonderful humming sound to it. I would crank that thing up many times, and and can almost hear the sound of it now.
Also had a whistle with a plunger, and later a plastic trumpet whistle with two holes that would almost play Mary Had A Little Lamb with a basic do re me.
Had a trombone at home and a piano- both parents were musicians. My father being a weight lifter seemed to also make jingling type music with a clinging bell type sound of the weights.
Also, I got interested in science and engineering. After 40, being no longer an engineering technician, my focus was more strongly on art and music.
My parents both played the piano. My paternal grandfather was a gifted minister, who did not awlays know what he said after preaching, being gifted in that manner.
On the morning that he died, I wokeup and heard the words "soon the humming bird of death will come" When I got up and looked out the window, a humming bird flew up and looked at me for a moment. About noon heard that he had died that morning.
A man sang "The Old Rugged Cross" at his funeral with such power that I could see a dark silhouette of the top of the cross and the crown of thorns durring the singing.
Recently, I read about the trouble in Carter and Rowan Counties in Kentucky. That helps to explain the burdoned facial expressions in some old family pictures of my great grand parrents who lived in those counties at that time.

Favorite spot?
My favorite place was the Bulova Bridge east of Springfield,Il, but it is posted now. I once felt inspiored to leave my top of the line trombone there. I came back about an hour later and found some people were fishing there. They had assumed it was an empty case and were going to take it when they left. I opened it and showed them the best trombone that money could buy, and played a hymn for them. Praise God!
Equipment used:
I have a digital camera for live videos with sound, or sound only. The camera records at 64 kbps. Also have a computer video camera, MAGIX audio cleaning lab, Nero, Windows Moviemaker, and other software. I recently got back into cassette tape recording, because the digital camera does not record well in a public place where there is background noise, as the digital video/recording camera has to be at least 2' away.
Anything else...?
For almost a year, I made one 80 minute CD a month of KJV bible reading and harp adlib. I had many wonderful nights sleep with these CDs on repeat play.
I planted an Yellow Peace rose in a certain place according to a vision. It turned out to be next to a sewage tile. The rose thrived, producing about two nice blossom a week all summer, without using spray. The yellow rose pictured with certain of my songs was as good as the winning rose at the Illinois State Fair Flower Show. The following year, the bush wasn't healthy, even with spraying.
