Sam Kang is compared to John Mayer and others, but we like to think he is just Sam Kang. His lyrics are genuine with catchy melodies. I guess just listen to see what you think.
Why this name?
His name.
Do you play live?
Well I somewhat unofficially speaking for Sam I am sure he loves it. He has played in L.A. a couple times, especially at the Rainbow Bar and Grille off Sunset Blvd., at people's houses and once at UCSB.. looking to play again. I am sure there are other places he played at, but those were the only times I was able to see him live. It is just good to see how his music is different than most out there. Listeners find his lyrics genuine with captivating melody.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It can help it for sure. For those who want to be heard it is definately a great tool to use. If a listener is dedicated or likes to purchase cd's there is no problem.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Why not. I am just somewhat managing for him. But I am sure he will be very happy to.
Band History:
"My parents decided to support me playing music because that is the only thing we find I am good at." - Sam Kang

Probably have to ask Sam. He started writing songs in highschool. Definately knew that it was a natural talent. Although he might not be aware of it, he is really good with words (in songs). During the summer after his second year in college, his parents gave him $4000 to professionally record a cd. Now, he has 500 of them and selling them for $10 each. He is mainly using the CD's as means to be heard.
Your influences?
Ask Sam.
Equipment used:
Probably him and his guitar, but he does use electric guitars.. basically whatever a typical band is composed of.
