ahhh, the trouble all started when someone got themselves a motherf***in guitar...started in high school, the rap group jonada, built from a US history project music video project in 2000, wrote and rapped songs about oppression and a constant striving for peace among humanity. having only minimal equipment in the forms of a computer and sampled beats, they gradually made their way into the realm of rock n roll. but don't u dare call them "rap rock!" built then on acoustic style rockin and a monstrous bass, they aim to write songs that described the human experience. love, repression, depression, anger, humor, tragedy, etc. heavily influenced by all the genres in todays world, including, but not limited to, coldplay, radiohead, jay-z, nas, u2, the beatles, the clash, emo, beat poetry, outkast, tupac, biggy smalls, incubus, damien rice, catpower, prince, michael jackson, fugees, cat stevens, etc. the list will never end!!!!
2001- a band called HAZE emerges from the ash. first, guitarist/vocals ATL got himself a bomb ass martin acoustic/electric which he still will be paying off. and ahhh, the trouble when someone got themselves a motherf***in guitar, fellow guitarist/lyrists/vocals JON (aka NINJA) also acquired a fine guitar to start writing songs. the third member of the band, is as powerful as his instrument, bassist/ bass vocals BERTO (aka HARU) got in on the act and contributed the power of the bass. much has gone into the forming of the trio and there were many nights playing and recording at ween hours of the night in a garage or a loud bedroom. still engulfed in the college years they balance out the demands of academia with the soul's urging to show their expressions through music.
as we progressed into what we are and what we have become, we researched on the internet and found that many has the band name HAZE. we decided to find the name that perfectly suits to our music and it wasn't as easy as you think. from the idea of being called the parataroopers to green house effect. (Inside Joke =P) we have finally found the name that describes us, from the way we express words into music, to our instruments that make the music we continuously strive to excel at.
AERODOLCE....
Aero: The combining form of the Greek word meaning air.
dolce: Italian word defined as Sweet.
as we begin to embark into new areas of music, merging the sounds of each of our instruments, our voices, to form the songs that we bring into being. we have added a new band member, NORMAN, who has the talent with the sweet sound of the violin. it's hard to describe how our music transformed as the violin accompany the guitar, so you may have to come see for yourself. =P
2004-be warned, aerodolce is not a gimmick. they are not a band to stereotype or label. wherever there is good, genuine music and poetry being put out into this earth, this band seeks to be one of the entities that allow it to be so. we ask for no favors, we play no games, we write we play we sing we breathe all the feel to be at that moment of space. granted, in our youth we dont always know a clear path. we are in the mist of the young, the fog of innocence lost and purging doubt, now it's time we sing about it.
