Vic Zarley
My wife, Eva, and I have heard a call from God to establish a ministry (not yet non-profit), called The Final Harvest Ministries. A part of that ministry is our songwriting and singing. Our "band" consists of only the two of us at this time. For more information on our ministry, visit The Final Harvest
Why this name?
Our bandname, at this time, is just our names: Vic and Eva Zarley. Our music is part of a multi-faceted ministry, however.
Do you play live?
Yes,we play in some unusual places, in addition to churches, assisted living facilities and prison. We go out onto the highways and byways, wherever people are. Sometimes we will even go to public places where the "unchurched" people can be found on Sunday mornings. Our songs are sermons in themselves and we have a heart for those who feel completely self-sufficient, not thinking they need a Savior, or those who have been hurt by the "church" social club mentality of modern Christiandom. We want to be there for them when they cry out for help, leading them to Jesus, the genuine Christ, who provides that help. You might catch us at a park, a beach, a public event, even the streets of downtown Gatlinburg! We have had several treasured moments when a person or group of persons has walked up to listen to our singing and then testified how God was speaking to them through our songs. One lady was working at a park facility and had prayed God would send "church" to her because she always had to work on Sundays. We play live anytime, anywhere and are not ashamed to say we love Jesus very much!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I'm not sure about this question. I'm not that familiar with the industry enough to make an evaluation like this.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
We certainly would consider signing with a record company that can share the vision we see with this ministry. We are in the process of placing many songs up on this site (in quite "raw" form) and pray that someone (whom God has already picked out) will want to help us get the Word out (through our inspired songs and writings, found on our Website TheFinalHarvest.org) and our music.
Band History:
Eva and Vic Zarley both have a history of songwriting. When God brought them together in 2002, he created a wonderful songwriting team with hearts for God and His people. Often Vic will be strumming the guitar a certain way, or picking out some tune from the air, and Eva will come into the room, saying, "I've got words for that. Keep playing it." Then she'll write down what she got and it will fit perfectly. They are amazed at the process and give all glory to the Lord for it. In addition, they both write songs individually as well.
Your influences?
We have always loved the old folk songs of the 60s, including Peter, Paul and Mary; The Kingston Trio, Simon and Garfunkel, etc. We love tight harmonies and attempt to apply those to our songs.
Favorite spot?
Wherever we are.
Equipment used:
Vocals and a 6-string acoustic guitar.
Anything else...?
Please visit our site, TheFinalHarvest.org, and read Vic and Eva's books. All are available for free online and as downloadable PDFs. Do look at Eva's message to the Church entitled Call to Repentance and Vic's book, particularly, The Opening window. It is his miracle filled spiritual autobiography in which he tells how the Lord gently took him from New Age back into His arms, His Word, and His church.
