Mannequin is an independent, experimental, industrial rock band.

My music has been described as dark & disturbing, but simultaneously beautiful and honest. Full of revenge for scornful lovers, as well as disgust, self loathing, and regret.

The debut album, "Denial Fixation" was finished in 2002.

"Straining the Retina" is a concept album started in 2002, and although never officially released, the songs have slowly been surfacing in different forms.

"Worn" is the current album for the songs I'm releasing now. I'm looking at releasing it physically and/or digitally later this year.

Why this name?
I've tried out many different names - again and again, "Mannequin" has come to mean & represent so many different things. It's the most comfortable and universal moniker I've found.
Do you play live?
No, I don't play out live; with only two hands - I couldn't possibly perform everything at once, and I think just me in front of a synth & computer would be lame.

I welcome other musicians that are interested in collaborating with me to contact me. I've become more & more interested in pursuing a full band to implement these songs, or other originals. My priority is writing & creating music I enjoy. I love to play out live to help gain some exposure, and establish a fan base.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has provided exposure for thousands of musicians & bands that otherwise wouldn't have it. However, over the past 30 years, it seems it has become harder for smaller, unknown bands to get exposure into the mainstream - but that may simply be a matter of public consumption.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes it is my dream to make music for a living. An indie label would really be more fitting - so that I could have some artistic control.
Band History:
Mannequin began in 2001, after my last project, Cathartic Distress, parted ways.
Your influences?
NIN, Tool, Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, blues & classic rock in general, Beatles, Doors, Faith No More, Hendrix, Sonic Youth, etc... so many more
Favorite spot?
I haven't yet found my place. But Yosemite National Park is the closest I've discovered.
Equipment used:
Shure SM57,
Grove Tubes GT55
Korg Triton,
Electric guitars: a couple of home-grown Fender Strats.
Acoustic guitars: Simon & Patrick, Epiphone junker.
Mackie 1202 Mixer
Various Boss pedals.
... all converged into my Dell E510 PC... MasterTracksPro for MIDI sequencing - CEP for audio editing & tracking.

Recently added a Mac G4 to the studio! ...also working on building another strat! :-p
Anything else...?
I'm trying to establish a fanbase! If you like the music - please spread the word. Email me, visit my page on myspace, leave a comment on the message board.
