Why this name?
It's a nickname from where I grew up.
Do you play live?
I do shows all the time in the Seattle area. There's a nice buzz about me... get airplay in NC... did the vocals a song for the Orlando Magic and the Washington Wizards.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It puts everybody on the same playing field and helps the underground scene. If you get in there and do it you can make it.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No. I'd rather do everything independent till I get a distribution deal. A big label is the last resort. I don't feel they can really can do anything for me.
Band History:
Born in Youngstown, OH in 1979..."I grew up listening to performers such as the Ohio Players, Stevie Wonder, B.I.G. and 2pac." At age 16, Ryder moved to Pittsburgh, PA and started making a name in the underground circuit. By age 21, Ryderloc had put together his own production camp and had half of the Hyenna Pacc making noise in the Midwest. Roads led Ryderloc working on a head banner single with Jay Garfield.
"I CAN SHOW YOU HOW TO PARTY" really dropped hard. "Man I couldn't believe the response I got from the single when they played it in the club."
In 1997 Ryder found himself in the far Northwest near Seattle, WA where he teamed up with another young guy who had migrated there and was making his way thru the circuit as well. The rest is history...
