We're a metalcore band from Westmont (suburb of chicago). We've declared ourselves metalcore, because that's the closest thing to what we are (genre-wise). We are currently working on recordings... all of these that are up right now are a bit pre-mature... some more-so than others. Eventually, these songs will come together, and I will post the final product.
Why this name?
Our bandname was a highly debated subject for a good 2 or 3 days. We originally wanted to call ourselves deadbolt, but Kevin didn't like that idea too much. So, we searched for a while for a bandname that we all agreed upon. This was hard to find. Eventually, Kevin stumbled across the term "Blindshot" in Final Fantasy: Tactics (video game), and thought "hey, that's a great name for a band." The name stuck.
Do you play live?
Yes. We've played at the Congress Theater and the Westmont Battle of the Bands. The only real "special" moment is that Devin seems to break something in every show he ever does.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well, aside from pirating, it is a very beneficial tool. You no longer need mainstream media to become really big really fast. That is a major advantage.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Does the earth orbit the sun? Of course we'd sign. Century Media... C'mon, you know you love us.
Band History:
Blindshot formed in early October, 2004. We haven't been around all that long. But, here is our product. We pretty much all joined the band at the same time.

We're still looking for a drummer, btw (our drummer we used is only a temporary thing, because he has obligations with another band)... so... if you like what you hear and want to try out the position... drop us a line.
Your influences?
We like to just give the five bands that influence each of us the most for this... so... here you go... (one for each member)

Diecast, Lamb of God, Atreyu, Slipknot, Beatles...

Now... go listen.
Favorite spot?
Chicago is our combined favorite spot/city... so much going on... so much life is lived there.
Equipment used:
Alec - Some mic... with some cable...

Kevin - Peavey Raptor Plus into a Digitech Death Metal Distortion pedal, Digitech RP50, DigiDelay, and Danelectro Wah... from there it goes to whatever Half Stack I'm using... usually a Crate.

Benny - Epiphone Les Paul into a Marshall... uses whatever distortion the amp has.

Devin - Peavey Bass... not sure of model... into an acoustic combo amp.

Charlie - the worst drum set in the world... seriously... Snare kept on through duct tape... supposed it's 2 or 3 sets combined... We just don't have enough money to replace it.
Anything else...?
"Well....I listened with a couple friends to your songs. We decided that I'd rather listen to my grandfather giving birth to a monkey. Either that, or all you guys getting stabbed in the face by your own instruments.

We hope, that in the future, you will let out all this musical expression through either self-injuring masturbation (Since you all seem so fond of it) or suicide.

Your attempts at guitar solos, singing, and existing in general were entirely underwhelming. I'm almost sorry for you guys, but then again, I'm not, because this is really that terrible.

And now, I'm going to go put my mouth around the car exhaust. Fare thee well, and take consolation in the fact that your 'dark, depressing, tortured' lyrics actually did lead to someone to the brink of death.

Damn, your music just sucks. That's it."
