description
Down In Kentucky is a bluegrass/blues type song written for an audio book soundtrack that I am working on. It was recorded near a swamp with natural sounds and performed on a cigar box guitar made by a man named Roimeister. I hope you enjoy it.

My name is Letha. Music lover, singer, musician and aspiring songwriter. Thanks for stopping by.
Why this name?
With a name like Letha I thought it was enough.
Do you play live?
I am a singer, song writer and musician.I play live occasionally as a single with guitar in small club cafe type places. Also sing every weekend as a second job as a karaoke hostess. Keeps me practiced although it is not the same as playing with a band. One special moment was when I wrote a song during the desert storm war and had a letter sent to me from the presidents office thanking me for my support. One of my momentos.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has allowed me to make multi-track recordings that I never thought I would all by myself. The greatest thing about the mp3 and internet is giving me the opportunity to talk with so many other talented and wonderful musicians that I would also never meet otherwise. It is very comforting to know that there are others who share the same goals and desires that I have, almost like we support each other. Our own club!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
My desire is more to become a published established songwriter, but in answer to the question, OF COURSE!!

Your influences?
Have what I guess you could call a unique style of music. Have been told there is no in between with my voice. It is either really loved or really hated. Was that a compliment or insult, lol? Was never sure but will never forget the statement. Think it is true. I have played and love many different types of music, and have a great fondness for soul and blues. Raised in bluegrass harmony and still produce a bluegrass festival every summer. My sound is mix of blues, bluegrass and country. Covers are Sheryl Crow, Allison Krauss, Aretha Franklin, Patty Loveless, Bonnie Rait, Melissa Ethridge.
Favorite spot?
Frankenmuth Michigan
Equipment used:
1930's beat up Gibson, an Ibanez Troubadour, and an AKS microphone.
Anything else...?
Music is a passion I have never lost, and I have a great respect for all the wonderful musicians and singers I meet, and most of all, for every single one who has ever listened to one of my songs and enjoyed it. Thanks to you.
