One definition of the word Crucible is a sort of melting pot for working with metal. We as a band are a melting pot of different styles of metal, blended to forge a single distinct style of music.

We have had several locals gigs and they have all been pretty positive. Fans and club owners all seem to genuinely like us and want us back again. So far, our best gig has been at the Fox Theatre in Newton. It's an old, historical theatre in Newton Kansas. The gig had a great vibe, and there were a lot of people there, who all really got into our set. We hope to have a lot more gigs like that one.

I think the music industry, much like the entire world, has gotten a lot smaller and more interconnected via the internet. The internet has been the single biggest tool in interglobal communications, and the sharing of ideas and data in the history of the world.

If we were still able to maintain an acceptable amount of creative freedom and our own impression of artistic integrity, then yes. Even with the advent of the internet, I still believe that a major record label is the most powerful way to market your music to the masses and gain a large, worldwide fanbase.

Crucible formed in October of 2003. Each member of the band has come from other bands prior to this one, and gained valuable experience to bring to Crucible. We're still a young band and a lot of history is yet to be written.

The genre of music that influences us the most is, naturally, Heavy Metal. Bands like Megadeth, Metallica (pre-Load), Testament, Iced Earth, C.O.C., Crowbar, Killswitch Engage, Lacuna Coil, and many others are constant sources of inspiration. Other genres of music like classical and film scores are a major influence to us as well.

Our favorite spot so far is the Fox Theatre. We have yet to play outside our home town.

Crucible use Jackson guitars with D'Addario strings, Crate guitar amps, Mesa Boogie bass amps and Line 6 bass processors, Ludwig drums and Zildjian cymbals.
