Struggling to liberate the creative thoughts contained in the heads of four individuals, Cadence immerged as the reflection of music to come. With musical influences such as The Deftones, Incubus, Factory 81, Drowning Pool, Relative Ash, Foo Fighters, and many other brilliant artists, Cadence "fuses melody with heavy riffs and rhythmic sounds" (MP3.com). This Massachusetts-based hard rock band has taken their roots in the Boston metal scene and transformed them into a brand new genre, colorfully referred to by many as "Groove Metal."
"We're not really into genres, but groove metal does sound pretty damn cool. I guess it's music that'll get you up and moving," says Tim, the guitarist for Cadence.
Cadence has grown as a band in the past year and gelled together into what you see today. The subtle line up changes since their formation in 2000 has not dulled the band's intensity at all, they are still the powerful force that lit up the local music scene a short two years ago.
In the summer of 2002 Cadence was offered an east coast summer tour with Chestrockfield, Balistic, and Beer Death. The tour was cancelled in early June before it had started due to complications with the headliner, Chestrockfield. Cadence is now intensively writing new music with hopes to build a larger fan base and take the world by storm.
"We don't have a message or a purpose except to play great music for great people, and be who we are" -Tim

Why this name?
"Cadence" came from a Dropkick Murphys song called "Cadence To Arms", it was the 1st song I ever heard that combined bagpipe and guitars and actually rocked.
Do you play live?
We play live at any place that will have us, mostly in massacusetts or virginia.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
MP3's are great for up and coming artist, they help get the word out and are an incredible source for promotion and distrabution. More established band probably don't like 'em as much, only because it lessens record sales. But if it wasn't for fans, there'd be no need for the music. I'll support MP3 downloads till I die.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
absolutly, won't catch us on TRL though.
