GC Rivers.... raw, down-right dirty blues!
Why this name?
This name was given to me by a good friend....GC are my initials, and Rivers....well, he said that my style is smooth and fluid like river waters.
Do you play live?
What real musician doesn't like to play live? Any time I get into the groove with my bandmates is a special moment.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it could have a positive impact by allowing bands greater accessibility to their audience.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Duh!
Band History:
My first exposure to the blues was in 2000, and that's where I found my calling. Although I had previous guitar playing experience, I had never played an electric, and had not been playing for about 10 years. I decided to play the blues, because it really touched my soul, and have being doing so since 2002.
Your influences?
Hendrix, Clapton, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters.
Favorite spot?
Jake's, Hallandale Beach, Florida.
Equipment used:
American Fender Deluxe Strat, Gibson flying-V. Voodoo Lab Micro-Vibe and Overdrive pedals, Cry-baby, Line-6 Echo Park, Boss Trem. Modified Fender Hot-Rod deluxe amp.
Anything else...?
What makes my band unique is our ability to get low-down and dirty with some good old-fashioned blues, and immediately switch to some heavy-handed rock n' roll.
