Rolanoid was used on the super stylish BBC television series Dreamspaces alongside The Chemical Brothers and Daft Punk. The track Reason To Live was in fact used in two episodes of the series.

On its release Cyclonic stormed up the Soundclick dance charts to reach number 5. It also simultaneously entered Broadjam's Europe, UK and Electronic Top 10 charts in April 2006 and went on to top their Trance chart for the entire May and June that year.

The Rolanoid sound pursues a range of elements from Underworld, The Chemical Brothers, Paul van Dyk, The Presets, Daft Punk, New Order and Orbital to Royksopp, Massive Attack, Ulrich Schnauss, Zero 7, Air and Groove Armada. ROLANOID has received rave comments on MySpace and was even ranked number 5 and 6 globally under unsigned house and trance artists on the site in 2006.

Why this name?
I wanted a name that was unique and also made it easy to Google. My first piece of studio gear was a Roland TR808 drum machine so that was the basis for the name some years later.
Do you play live?
I did my first live appearance at the NOTTING HILL ARTS CLUB in January 2005. It was part of an electro evening called Being Boiled hosted by top 20 electro pop band CLIENT who are signed to a label owned by Andy Fletcher of DEPECHE MODE. They liked my stuff so I played there again in February.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It empowers musicians to do it all ourselves which is great and very exciting. I'm hearing unreleased music on the net that is way better than a lot of the released stuff. I gave up on listening to the radio a few years ago, it just got way too bland for me with too much repetition, contrived boy bands and annoying ad breaks.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure thing.
Band History:
We were finalists in the International Songwriting Competition which was judged by the likes of Nelly Furtado and Macy Gray. Also received and honourable mention in the Billboard Contest.
Your influences?
Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, New Order, Orbital, Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, Royksopp, Ulrich Schnauss, Paul Van Dyk, Underworld, Infusion.
Favorite spot?
Floating on my back in the sea off a remote island in Madagascar.
Equipment used:
Most of the tracks on the album ELECTRONIQUE were done with Reason 2.5 but I bought a load of new stuff towards the end. (Cubase SX3, Tassman 4, Reactor, Absynth 3 & Stylus RMX.) I was trying to keep it a Reason only album for the sake of simplicity but I couldn't resist using the new toys on a few of the tracks. I am currently using mainly Cubase SX3, Ableton Live 5 and plugins.
