Heavyweight (Atlanta) is about the heavy-footed funk, the heavyfunked rock, the funked heaviness and things heavy and funk and rocked with some pop. Not so much on the making of sense, but very well versed on the making of the groove. Features Atlanta rock stars Andrew Black and Beau Hall.
Why this name?
I don't know. I just don't know. It came to me on a bagel.
Do you play live?
Hell yes we play live. That's what it's all about. Studio bands are nothing more than hobbyists. We're out there bringing pain to our bodies, deafness to our ears, so that you may thrive.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internets make it easier for us to reach a larger audience. Unfortunately, it also makes it easier for everyone else to reach a larger audience as well, so, the playing field is still level.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It always depends. A lucrative distribution deal with points would be something to look at, but a blind record deal? Never.
