Hi! I am a simple bedroom producer with big dreams and no money! I have tasted live production and loved it a lot! That Is what I am heading towards but dont have $30000 to buy sum nice synths for a decient studio!
Why this name?
My Full name is Jonathan David Graham, I have allways liked my name, but it didnt fit as a DJ/producer name! so, I combuned my first 2 names to become DJ JoDav!
Do you play live?
As I said above I love playing live! You get the adrenalin of the music and the thrills of it being you infront of people!!! I can only do live stuff when I am lucky enough to be sponcered by the guys at Canterbury Music who have lent me some world class synths!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
We are living in a changing world! I am very anti ripping artists off! But it is soo easily done now! My oppinion, the law should be changed so as I can have my legally purchaced CD's in an easier to manage format (MP3) and grant easier access! I dont want to bring 500 cd's with me overseas or wherever I go!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
As a trance producer yes, you need to to go places! But I would ensure I have enough rights to my music! I know some artests cant even perform live without permission which is silly!
Band History:
I have been involved with techno since the turn of the millennium and a producer since 2001. Even though it was only recently that I had taken my ability to produce techno seriously it was before then that I learnt most of what I know today. Although still mainly a bedroom producer I have had some live experiences and have thoroughly enjoyed every moment behind a synth. As a result I am hunting out for the necessary hardware to continue the experiences that I have already had. Part of the necessary hardware of every DJ is a descent deck of tables. At this stage I am unsure as to whether I will buy a deck, or stick with mobile disco (CD's etc). I have found Mobile Disco both challenging and fun! That's not to say I wont be buying a deck when one turns up as I like the showmanship that cam be achieved on turntables!

That's my story up to now and where I go from here depends on what opens up. I plan to go over to the UK for a while in particular Edinburgh and Scotland where I will tour around doing small gigs and dance parties until such a time as I can take on bigger things
Your influences?
Whooooooh!!! I like All music! Allthough, I am really passionate about electronica! Especially The Thrillseekers, Tiesto, Marc Dawn, Paul van Dyk, Rank1, Barthezz, I especially love songs like Exploration of space by Cosmic Gate, Light a rainbow by Tuscan and any epic/progressive trance! Then theres Drum and Bass, lets not go there, not yet anyway!
Favorite spot?
Edinburgh and all of scotland! I like My home in Christchurch New Zealand too!
Equipment used:
Hrmm, When I can, I use a lot of Korg Stuff, especially Triton and MS2000B as keyboards, the electribes for fun...More later!
Anything else...?
