We are the broadcasters from sunny worthing in england, Joel godden is the vocalist, Luke Clarke is the Guitarist, Jamie Curme is the Drummer and Jon Vaughn is the Bassist. we all like the Ramones and we are a rock'n'roll band (but do ska) thats about it for now.
Why this name?
originally we were called the manic mailmen but wanted a change so we came up with the broadcasters after the great fender guitar
Do you play live?
We've played live twice, it was great! at the recent talent show we beat pop punk emo sensation Forever unseen! and won a tenner
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
WWW.THEBROADCASTERS.UNI.CC. it's great for ADVERTISING a band and so that way more people can know about us all around the world, but vinyl is still the best way to listen to music so mp3's don't really give the full sound of the music and they don't really change the music industry at all.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
yes, some record labels can be really cool, like EMI and Virgin, but we wouldn't sign with sony.
Band History:
We formed in march of 2004 and we were originally a three peice band until we decided to get a bassist, not much history really. we have recorded our demo, we have some history now.
Your influences?
The Ramones are our main influence and every band member brings their own influences in to the band, like joel is a really big fan of ska, luke with the guitar greats (hendrix and vaughan) and jamie likes Blur so some artists that influenced us would go like this:
The Ramones
Ska (Dekker, The specials etc)
The Clash
Blur
Hendrix
Dead kennedys
jimmi vaughan
Punk(most good punk bands)
and some other ones...
Favorite spot?
New York, because it is where punk started and the best hot dogs are serverd there and mountain dew can be gotten there.
Equipment used:
the equipment is as follows:
Luke: Fender Jaguar (mettalic red), Fender Princeton 65 amp.
Joel: Yamaha Keyboard, Tamashi TMP001 Microphone
Jamie: Stagg Fusion Drums
Jon: PA (getting new bass & amp soon.)
