Cory Phillips
NEWS   "What people love about Cory Phillips is his authenticity. He is the poet of our age who happens to be just as gifted at writing unforgettable music to deliver it in. He is a gypsy who still dances with the muses and whose presence is a celebration of living. His authenticity lies where art meets the dreams that connect the ideal with the everyday." - Steven Danner, Personal Manager

Cory Michael Phillips
is a singer and writer from the South Texas coastal town of McAllen. He writes and arranges a soulful and insatiably sexy blend of poetic and harmony driven songs. Both hooky and intricate, Phillips music sticks with you long after the tunes have left your conscious. With his support musician's velvet touch, the music is soulful and harmony driven - where Jamiroquai meets Jeff Buckley. A sexuality seeps through the technically inspiring music, and Phillips rides that energy with the crowd for some electric and body-moving sets.

The color drives you and influences latent wine consumption and moonlit lovemaking. Just ask Heidi of KLSX Los Angeles who proclaimed during an in studio performance that she was "ready go home right now, crack open a bottle of wine and get it on."

Phillips signed to an exclusive personal management agreement with Steven Danner of Danner&Associates Campaign Consulting Group and signed a recording contract with Atlanta's Thermal Records. Through Thermal, Phillips will release his debut LP Spring 2008. Thermal released an early internet single from the Album, Jive , which is available through Snocap on his Myspace Page: myspace.com/coryphillips. Please request him as a friend and keep in touch. He takes pride in still manning the helm at Myspace and personally returning all of his mail.

Why do you do it, dude?
"Everything about modern music fuels my desire to live with this fever. From the 20's to today, I love it all. Soul music especially makes me dance and shake and scream and lose it. If you are not touched and dependent upon the feeling, I'm afraid you aren't a true leaf on its tree."
-Cory Phillips

Do you play live?
Phillips plays live with different supporting musicians depending on the venue and the occasion. He sounds passionate and fills music halls with just a bass and percussion behind him, but has many musicians he has played with over the past few years in Los Angeles. Friends and compatriots, each an amazing talent in their own regards. Violins, second percussion, kit drum, a saxophonist, horns, extra harmony vocals. He goes as large as 11 pieces.

Any way you see it, you will swear that was the best way to experience.

>What is it about you?
"What people love about Cory Phillips is his authenticity. He is the poet of our age who happens to be just as gifted at writing unforgettable music to deliver it in. Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Cory Phillips' debut solo LP will be released this Spring on indie Thermal Records, and if all of the intricate preparations pay off, his first single will be playing in radios across the great United States in time to celebrate another year as a nation.

>What kind of music is it?
"Cory's debut release this summer will have a hard time finding an official home in the record store isles. His music is considered Soul Pop by Los Angeles' City Beat, but Angelian promoters in have consistently included Superlove with Southern Rock bands. His influences leave him with material that could you could consider alternative rock, R&B, and even country. This album has the potential to be a very popular one to a whole lot of people."
- Billy Piatt, Music Columnist

>What's the oddest fact associated with this album?
Through eight years as a professional musician, performing his music fronting five bands, he has never released an album. Before he left for Los Angeles he recorded his farewell concert at the Lawrence Arts Centre and released a 2-disc limited edition album (songs on the live sampler are from this album). But it could hardly be called a release. The album drought will soon end as the Thermal Records debut Phillips CD is released to an expectant audience.

Initially, the album is going to be offered up in the west coast to see if radio bites. Depending on the reception it receives, it will be re-released in the rest of the United States, Europe, Japan, and Australia. Everyone in camp Cory Phillips encourages the crossing of fingers :)
