CodeAquamarine
NEWS
CodeAquamarine has released a new song called "Count From Zero".
The music of CodeAquamarine is not easily categorized, although it fits most accurately under Smooth Jazz. But generally, the music has elements of jazz, rock, blues and New Age.
Why this name?
The name CodeAquamarine is derived on three levels. At the lowest level, the artist writes code as part of his profession, and aquamarine is the birthstone for the month of March, in which he was born. At the next level, the name, having been born in a much later instance of March, came about in a time of terror alerts in the U.S. and impending war to be waged by that country. "Code Aquamarine" is meant to signify a condition that is in diametric opposition to the mood of anxiety brought about by these kinds of events, and a condition that listening to this and all positive-sounding music should bring about. Which brings us to the highest level, that being that all digital music is essentially represented as binary code, and the binary code here renders into the kinds of sounds that the artist hopes will bring about a harmonious Aquamarine condition for anyone who listens.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The Internet allows one to have his or her music heard by a worldwide audience, while not having to have the creativity behind that music corrupted by a lot of corporate marketing nonsense.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, provided I could retain total creative control over my music.
Band History:
The single artist behind CodeAquamarine is a software developer by day and a musician by night, and was understandably very interested in the merging of computers and music. He started working with MIDI back in 1990 and found it to be an invaluable tool for writing music.
Your influences?
CodeAquamarine is influnced be everything the artist behind it has ever heard, yet strives for originality. So there are no direct influences, although some songs may sound like Richard Elliot, the Rippingtons or Dave Grusin in places.

Anything else...?
Thank you for taking the time to listen to my music. I appreciate all comments and friend adds. Creating the music is very enjoyable, but knowing that it's touched just one other person makes the effort truly worthwhile.
