I'm a one-man industrial metal band, trying to capture what I like out of a few different genres -- death/black metal, industrial, and melody in a rock/songwriter way.
Why this name?
HOST is an acronym for the Home Of Something Terrible. It was just an idea I came up with one day, and it fits the music. It plays off of "host" in a technology reference, as well as the parasite/host relationship.
Do you play live?
Working on it ... musicians needed to get back on stage
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
This is question is too loaded for this tiny box
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Short answer, yes, but that's very conditional. Again, too loaded for a small box.
Band History:
I started doing this kind of stuff back when I was 15, though it is an entirely different beast at this point. It started off as my 2 main influences at the time, mixture of smashing pumpkins and NIN. Previously worked under the name "the chimera strain" for which I did have a live band. There was a year lapse for college (which I wasn't a fan of) and when I began work on new material, it was going in a much more brutal and dark direction. I decided the name change was a good idea.
Your influences?
Meshuggah, A Perfect Circle, Fear Factory, Skinny Puppy, Lamb of God, Kidneythieves, Morbid Angel, Orgy, Thorns, Dodheimsgard, Strapping Young Lad, Chimaira, 36 Crazyfists, Ulver, Behemoth, Bjork, Click, Emperor, Deadsy, Marilyn Manson, In Quest, MSI
Favorite spot?
I'm a fan of Boston
