The name spoat is originally my nickname given to me by my Grandmother. So instead of trying to come up with a rap name I stuck with Spoat.

Do you play live?

Yeah, when the chance presents itself. I'm a true lyricist so my creative challenge is to make the best music possible. I performed at the Uncle Al's Peace in the hood Festival and that was truly an experience. The response I got from my people made me realize how universal music has become. Hip Hop has created a bond between the races, and the humanly affect is powerful.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

Yes, it creates numbers. The amount of people you can reach, and you can actually sell your own product without a major record company .

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

If all the circumstances are right, "fo sho."

I have many influences, but to name a few: Jigga, Biggy, 2 Pac, Eminem and any other artists that have succeeded.
