Hello, I'm Chris Szkup and I play guitar and a few other things too....
Why this name?
You'd have to ask my parents.
Do you play live?
YES. I do solo acoustic shows at the moment. I'm looking to get into the right band situation when it presents itself.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well on one side of the coin, you have the obvious issue of piracy with mp3's, which is definitely a problem, as these people deserve to be paid just like anyone doing a job.
On the other side, you have the fantastic
possibilities it opens up for a guy like myself as far as promoting my music goes.
It's definitely a cool thing for the industry if used correctly.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'd certainly consider it, but it's tough to say until you see the conditions, and how much money you won't make, in front of you on paper.
Would THEY sign me though? :P

Your influences?
Life. It can really be any aspect of that. It's never the same thing that triggers musical or lyrical ideas.
TOO MANY. Queen, The Beatles, Cheap Trick, Bumblefoot, Megadeth, Frank Zappa, Testament to name a few. Anything that is well done will usually get a listen from me.

Favorite spot?
Too many to mention I really don't know. Did a trip to Phillip Island recently that I found to be a BEAUTIFUL place.
Equipment used:
On these songs, Cort semi acoustic, Yamaha pacifica, Yamaha bass, Peavey Combo, Digitech effects.
Anything else...?
