We are a SoCal garage band with a love of the absurd, though we use "garage band" in the loosest form of the term (all recording done in bedroom, you see). We want to create music that will make the people of the world say, "er... what?"
Why this name?
"One time I was watching TV really late at night and came across some footage this weird animal, which I later learned was a kinkajou, going down a woman's shirt. I immediately thought, That is the coolest animal ever. I communed with the kinkajou spirit and its ultimate psychedelic awesomeness was revealed to me. My cat resembles a kinkajou and is our mascot." - Jules
Also, you can replace their eyes with tangerines, which I think is just the coolest thing ever.
Do you play live?
We haven't played live (yet?).
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet is really, really great...>.0 Sorry. Q.
It's a lot easier to find good stuff to listen to when I'm bored...
Band History:
A Long Time ago, two ninth-grade girls named Cait and Jules sat in a drama class and toyed with the idea of a pagan rock band. One year, few prospective helpers, a scary dance class (oh, and the weight room...), and a sugar-craving ghost later, they finally got together in Jules' garage and improvised a bunch of random music, which they decided to post online to freak people out.
Yay Internet!
Your influences?
Cait-The Doors, Broadway musicals (ehe ^_^'), The Cranberries, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Jules-Ani Difranco, Pixies, the Beatles, Irish stuff, Violent Femmes, early No Doubt, and Fleetwood Mac
Equipment used:
Jules has two guitars, an acoustic and an electric, and Cait bangs on an upturned garbage can with a pen. At some point, she will move on to woodwinds as well (flute, recorder, et cetera), but we don't yet write sheet music down. Songs are recorded in iMovie, and converted to mp3 in iTunes.
