Upon listening to our debut record, you may ask, how could this slick, polished, big league-sounding pop record just appear out of the blue? Questions abound.

Are The Day Traders merely the concoction of boy band impresario Lou Perlman? Did The Day Traders hire The Matrix to write and produce all their hooks? No, and no. But we didn’t get to this point over night, and it hasn’t been easy. We learned a lot from our experiences playing in a little known Connecticut-based band called The Dent. Perhaps you heard of us? No? I didn’t think so.

So in the wake of The Dent’s break-up, Jeff and I, two of the main songwriters for the band, began casually experimenting with each other’s song ideas - ideas that remained dormant for a year as we had spent nearly every waking moment recording and promoting The Dent’s final album, prophetically titled “Farewell.”
One thing led to another, and now, a year after The Dent’s demise with a ton of help from the almost frustratingly talented producer and multi instrumentalist, and songwriter, and engineer, Saul Zonana, we’ve released our debut album as The Day Traders.

So that’s where the story ends, and begins. To listen to song samples and see some expensive head-shots, please visit www.thedaytraders.com.
Why this name?
It summed up the hours and conditions that we live under to promote our music. Much like the long/thank-less hours of the anonymous day-trader, sitting at his computer trying to read the market and figure out how to think one step ahead.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
When used responsibly, it allows greater freedom to browse before you buy. I think this is ultimately a good thing as it puts more pressure on the labels and artists to produce as high a quality product as possible.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
We wouldn't reject anything that helps us to continue writing music.
Your influences?
"If the Fountains of Wayne, Guster, and Jimmy Eat World had a baby, it would sound like The Day Traders."
