The music of Brennen Reece is an eclectic and genre-defying mixture of Cohen-esque folk, Southern Gothic themes, Jimmy-Page-meets-Wes-Montgomery guitars, Bossa Nova strings and rhythms, Be-bop basslines, and 70s Glam overtones.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think that people will eventually stop making music to get rich. Music can only benefit from this.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It really depends on the label. Doubtful.
Your influences?
Serge Gainsbourg, Lou Reed, Johnny Cash, David Bowie, Tom Waits, Oscar Brown, Jr., Mose Allison, Leonard Cohen.
