TEXAS COUNTRY ROCK
Performer / Producer / Songwriter
Why this name?
Now it all comes down to me, and the Grace of the Lord. My name is John Robert Jackson
Do you play live?
Yes, South East, South West and all of Texas!
How 'bout the "Today Show" I love Manhattan!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The coverage is fantastic. I love it! It gives great exposure that helps artists and everyone. I would hope that the listener is the one best served. That is why we're doing this, right?
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'm taken, but thanks for asking. Renegotiate? Not until my label can do a "Greatest Hits" in my abscence! LoL
Band History:
"Good, better, best, never let it rest 'til the good gets better and the better gets best" Let's just say I've paid enough dues.
Recording the CD "Gold River" has really been rewarding to me personally, I feel that I have worked with some extremely talented people.
Sometimes I have to stop and think, man, I'm just a guy with a passion, and these people really want to help me meet my goals... well it just warms my heart ya know.
Your influences?
Rockabilly, that Keith Richards/Ron Wood sound, Dwight Yoakam, Pete Anderson, Kenny Chesney, George Strait, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Horton, Merle Haggard, Tom Jans, & Johhny Rivers.
Favorite spot?
Austin, Texas
Equipment used:
I use a wide array of equipment. Guitars range from Fender Telecasters, Stratacaster, Epiphone WildKat (Great Rockabilly Axe),Alvarez Acoustic and a Gibson Mandolin. I use a Korg Karma keyboard with the Triton engine (Awesome, ask Gwen Stefani and keyboardist Gabe McNair). It's a versatile keyboard!
Anything else...?
I want to thank everyone out there listening.
