Making simple sounds complex is what I, G-Major X, am all about. I am proud to say that all of my music is created with the help of Playstation music programs. I'd like to think that if you didn't know how this music was made, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
Why this name?
After trying a few lamer names, I settled for this one. "G" is for my first initial. "Major" is my middle name (seriously). And "X" is for extreme.
Do you play live?
Nothing live, folks. Sorry. It would be kinda hard seeing as how all my songs are ripped from a memory card.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet allows music (among other things) to be quickly transmitted and received, so it's easier for material to reach a wider audience faster. For better or worse, it's here to stay.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure, I'd sign with a major label. If it helps me get my sounds out there (and helps me make a bit of money), I'm all for it.
Band History:
I suppose it all started in 1999 when MTV Music Generator came out for the Playstation. There's really not much to tell about what happened after that. I practiced, learned more about the program and began making better and better music with it. I've tried using other programs, but I always went back to MTVMG.
Your influences?
I'm really into techno, rave, trance and other fast-paced music. Dance music is the name of the game. However, I listen to all kinds of music, so that might come through in my style. You can even expect the occasional video game song!
