New song "Baby Doll" !!!!

New site www.bethhammond.net! check it out!!!

Pop-soul songstress, Beth Hammond (24-years old, Mass.-based), has a rather unique style. Earthy, anthem-esque, lyrical content combining both groove-conscious R&B & lush arrangements. Beth has a sultry, but yet "in-your-face" vocal delivery. Impressions of a Sarah McLachlan meets Diana Krall meets Aaron Neville..... a radio programmer described her as "Toni Braxton crossed with Annie Lennox"!
Why this name?
Producer/artist collaboration.
Do you play live?
I love performing, can't wait to get back out there. I want to show people how I feel, and really let them hear my songs and energy.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Everybody can be heard. There is so much information it's great!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
but of course...
Band History:
I have been singing since I was in elementary school. I was the lead singer for the jazz band the two years I attended my jr high school. I've been seriously pursuing my singing career for about 3 years. My first industry demo was released in Oct'03. Second released Aug '04. We are planning on releasing a real CD for distribution next year with or without a major label. We have completed an excellent marketing plan, which investors are reviewing now. So when we get the funding we'll just release it ourselves! Then we get to reap all the benefits!
Your influences?
Alicia Keyes, Marvin Gaye, Madonna, Brit, Christina, Jewel, Mariah Carey, Etta James, Sarah M, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan...
Favorite spot?
NYC baby!!! But I definitely want to explore LA more
Equipment used:
Shure 58
Anything else...?
This whole process has been really hard for me. Writing your own songs makes you very vulnerable and it takes a lot of strength to stand behind them with everything you have. Everyone has insecurities, and mine come out in my music. Revealing them makes me stronger.

I am getting more and more serious about my singing. We are actively looking for management now and always a deal. This whole process has helped me grow, and become more patient with the world, people, and myself. Things are very different for me now. Life is good.
