Beat Sequence is finally making a come back! Now starring the great Louis Rogers on guitar! We will be playing funk, techno, jazz, and some charts like Dave Matthews' "Stay." Keep checking back as we will soon be posting new music! Thanks!

Hi my name is Alex Rubin (the creator and manager of this page) and I'm putting together this page here at soundclick for a new band that my friends and I have started called "Beat Sequence." We are just a group of kids here in Indiana at our high school BHSN. Here in Bloomington, Indiana the music scene is huge due to IU (one of the very best music schools in the country) and we hope to make it out there on the scene. We have some great talent and potential in our members so I suppose we will just play and see what happens.

As far as the type of music with the new reform we will be playing funk, jazz, techno, and some charts.

Our band has five members: Me (drums), Ian (piano), Louis (guitar), Chaz (bass), and Max (turntables/synth)
*note others will also be playing with us a lot of the time, feel free to ask if you'd like to jam sometime!

PLEASE POST COMMENTS AND FEEDBACK ABOUT OUR MUSIC ON OUR MESSAGE BOARD!
Why this name?
Max and I were just sitting in math class thinking up names and he came up with "B Sequence" and I thought about it and just came up with "Beat Sequence" we just thought it sounded cool. Seeing that Max and I spend time doing things like this in math, well that may explain why we are slacking haha.
Do you play live?
We currently do not play live since we have finally reformed and are starting over again. But hopefully in the next few months and over the summer we will be playing around town.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
mp3s certainly do not help out the music industry, but come on what would life be like without mp3s and free music? So in our opinion who cares, because mp3s are awesome.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes definitely. Being signed would be absolutely amazing!
Band History:
Our band is new so there is no history of our band, however there is some history behind each of the members of our band.

MEMBERS:
Alex Rubin: My musical career began with 5 years of piano in elementary school and then I quit that for drums in middle school and picked up on the drumset in 8th grade and now I have been playing for about 5 years. I am mostly self-taught, but have had a few lessons that I didn't really reap any great benefits from. My main teacher I should say is the great Carter Beauford of Dave Matthews band because I listen and analyze his playing all the time.

Ian Taylor: Ian has been playing piano as long as I've known him and has been playing for something like 12-13 years. He has quite a musical history in his life and is extremely talented. He currently plays in the top jazz band at our school and he is also looking into the IU and Ball State music programs for college.

Louis Rogers: I've been hearing rumors about this new freshmen kid all year, then one day Ian finally brought him over and I heard him play. All I have to say is he's incredible and is for sure one of the best high school guitarists around. He is in the top jazz band at our school as a freshmen which is amazing, we are very glad to have Louis with us.

Chaz Sinn: He began by playing the guitar and picked up the bass as his main focus in middle school where I played with him a good bit in band. He has been playing now for something like 5-6 years.

Max Gustaitis: I met Max freshmen year in cross country and have watched him become one of Indiana's best runners, but I never knew he had musical talent as well. He just started playing the turntables about a year ago and has become pretty good on them very fast. He shows the potential to become a great DJ and can accompany our music well with his scratching technique.
Your influences?
We all have our own musical influences and many of them are in different genres, so I won't bother listing them all. Our music is original and unique to us as it is a mixture of all different kinds of genres.
Favorite spot?
Bloomington "Boom Town" as Max calls it. This must be our favorite spot since we're all from here and haven't really been anywhere else. We also love Indiana Dunes State Park where our XC training camp is held, too bad we're all seniors and won't ever go back there again.
