Why this name?
We were looking in a dictionary for one and we landed on "Philander" over 10 times by coincidence and plus it means to nail a bunch of chicks, so why not?
Do you play live?
We try to play out as much as possible in this armpit of america and even though its tough we usually get at least 3 gigs a month. Whenever we play out its just a huge privilage and if theres any bands out there from the area or no from the area that wanna get some shows going on give us an email. one night at Club Millenia we had a packed house maxing out the place with 450+, thats a pretty special moment (and that was when we still sucked)- Someone whos really starting to improve the scene is Daniel Falkowski of www.NEPAexposure.com - he's a stand up guy when it comes to the music scene around here so make sure you check out his site. by the way we were the first ever band of the month on www.NEPAexposure.com -
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
the internet and mp3s help the music industry greatly. you can send your songs to anyone with the click of a button. you can put so much content on your website for thousands and thousands of people to see.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
undoubtably...
Band History:
Brad (drummer) and John (guitar) wanted to start a band. Talked to their friend jim to play 2nd guitar (because we were intensely obsessed with KoRn so we needed a second guitarist). My cousin Ed had a bass. we started off without a singer and none of us knew how to play good at all. got a singer. everyone still sucked. kicked the singer out. still sucked. got Ivan. still sucked. jim and ed lost almost all interest in a band and focuses on everything else much more. Ivan picked up bass. we started to not suck as much. Ivan involved keyboards, samples and pianos to some songs. Ivan had some good guitar parts in mind for some songs so we tried out a guitarist but decided that some of our songs sounded better with just one guitar so instead of adding another guitarist, ivan would just play guitar when needed and we'll get a bassist (Casey). Well thats about up to date... We hate honesdale.
