Slavior is just one person, John Quill. It is basically a side project of the other bands i'm in, "catalyst" and "antihuman". Slavior is a mix of virtually everything I listen to or am inspired by, but is mostly alternative and industrial heavy metal. other influences include black metal, death metal, acoustic music, 80's electronica, late 80's industrial, modern hard dance, and most other forms of extreme and alternative music.
Why this name?
"Slavior" is a combination of two words - "Slave" and "Savior". I came up with it last year and used it as an Antihuman song title. It was the only name fitting the theme of the music i make.
Do you play live?
I play live with the other band, "catalyst", in local pubs. It's a good buzz to be up on stage playing exceedingly heavy tunes... (",). We might also play soon as "2000B.C.", another side project.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes music more widely available to the public, which is brilliant, as this helps bands get known and off the ground. It can, however, be destructive to some elements of music... i'm personally a fan of the whole package and presentation of music as a record or CD, it portrays the music in a better light, as opposed to just being single tracks to download. I suppose if you're the kind of artist who makes one good song, as opposed to an album of good material, the Internet is a better medium for spreading your music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
God yes. Anything to help spread good music around. Even if you hate Slavior, you might like some of the other bands and projects that my friends, family, and I are involved in.
