Why this name?
After breaking out of many up comming bands such as; sevenPly,haism, studdering stanley,Perfect Strangers, and P.S. , ben decided for it just to be him and his guitar. soon ben began adding back up band members, but since ben had built his fan bass on "ben nelson" he never changed the name.
Do you play live?
ben played many places after his first album "dear alayro" he played all over the south/south east. he plans on starting back in a few weeks doing the same for his album "changed"
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Though ben has passed up many record deals in the past and tours he is still just looking for the right one. ben wants some one who doesn't want to change him, just let ben be ben. he is also a full time youth minister and loves working with students so some decissions would differ, but he is open to anything God leads him to do.

Anything else...?
here is a review by 'gods of music'on a song of ben's first album (dear alayro) the song is intitled 'confused'

‘Confused’ is all that. All in all it is a great experiment that hasn’t found any closure. I imagine the structure and arrangement of this song began when someone led this young singer Ben Nelson into a room with some instruments and a recording devise and demanded that he play with these new toys until he understood their basic method of operation and then he could go back to his play station. It appears that Nelson got hooked and prefers music to role playing games. This will surely be the first chapter in a long series of extrapolations on the theme of emotional discovery and I hope to be here to hear them develop. Neil Young once began the introduction of his song “Don’t Let it Bring You Down” with… “This song sort of starts out real slow and then fizzles out all together.” That thought kept going through my mind as Ben Nelson’s meandering ‘Confused’ played and replayed through my headphones. If this was the point of ‘Confused’ then it reached its' goal and beyond. Ben Nelson is well on his way to refining a unique sound from a remote corner of LA (that’s lower Alabama for those of you geographically challenged listeners) that few would expect could give birth to a seventeen year old experimental folk artist. Up till now Greenville, AL has still been listening to its heroes Hank Sr. and Jr. and Bobby Goldsboro but, that could all change if Nelson plays his Russian folk licks right and gets some much needed constructive support. I for one enjoyed this attempt and do want to listen to the sequels. Remember: Nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care... and just because nobody understands you doesn't mean that you are an artist.
