play lo-fi play hi-fi  catapillah - untitled drumnbass sculpting nr.2
started making music first
then dj'ing under the name 'dj red'
started playing some of my own tunes in electronical and drum'n'bass-sets
now I'm making drum'n'bass, hard tek, techno & intelligent breakbeat [ don't like to categorize music, but otherwise people dunno what it's about ;) ]
Why this name?
first i called myself 'dj red', but because there are so many dj reds, i changed it to catapillah (a regression in evolution - let's call it a step back) - i also have a seperate project called 'evilkingston' which is mostly experimental (extremely experimental) and is momentarily on hold (freeze on project AOD - ilkingston)
Do you play live?
not yet
played a studioset once in antwerp (anvers), live, but just to have it on disc (to send out a demo)
as a dj i played my largest gig on 'power of dj's night' for 600 people
but my best party was small crowd in a basement (illegal party @antwerp) 50-100 people
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
more livesets on the net (they were never on sale before, so...)
easier to exchange and find experimental music
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
i would
but my music isn't mainstream, so...
