Why this name?
It struck me as appropriate at the time. It draws on Icelandic mysticism, Norse paganism overall, and my obsession with Jungian philosophy.
Do you play live?
I don't play live, and most likely never will. I do like playing live though, in other bands.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The Internet allows more people to experience music. It is an amoral entity. Its dark side as well as its usefulness stem from the purposes of those who wield it.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No.
Band History:
I've been writing poems, lyrics, and songs for years. Some of them make it to the recording stage.
Your influences?
Sigur Ros, Cat Power, all kinds of waltzes and things in 3/4, Tom Waits, Hank Williams, Erik Satie, Richard Wagner, Rasputina, the Misfits, Burzum.
Favorite spot?
The park outside Hjemkomst stav church.
Equipment used:
I use a generic white telecaster, no effects, usually plugged directly into the analog 4-track, sometimes a cheap keyboard appears, and vocals with my big microphone from the 70's. The off switch is broken on it. And it sounds really hollow.
*UPDATE*
I bought a hollow-body guitar a few months ago and have been writing a lot with it, tuned a whole step down. Also brought in the Big Muff distortion to try, but that doesn't seem to fit. Experimentation with multiple vocal overdubs is also progressing.
