The original Habita lineup consisted of Lloyd Young, Allan Harrod and talented drummer Michael Binning. A few weeks into the band they had the initial foundations for "The One I See" and "The Sanctuary", however they found they were missing something, and added Matt Semmens on lead guitar. After a couple of practices as a four piece Michael left the band, and Matt took his position on the drums temporarily. They carried on composing as a three piece and played a small gig supporting local experimental rock band "The Specialists". After the gig, "The Specialists" frontman Adrian Maycock was so impressed that he asked to try out for lead guitar in the band. Due to the lack of drummers in the area, Habita accepted his request and also tried out guitarist Faye Corey. Eventually the band decided on Adrian for lead guitar, and the lineup has remained the same since.
