description
... and the dark, when it comes, shall become all....
as in the days before light, before god...
days of chaos and death....confusion of the elements.... before the sea and Mother Hera....
and the dark, shall fill your sights, and you will learn

Dementia Armand
Currently Dead Dolls is a solo project of multi-talented, multi-octave industrial singer Dementia Armand. Dead Dolls has released two albums, 'unravel' & 'Manik Lucidity', which are for sale on the Official Dead Dolls Bandpage. The music is dark and disturbing, slow and hypnotic. Dementia's vocals are unlike anything you have ever heard. This is one-of-a-kind music and a one-of-a-kind singer.
Why this name?
I found myself describing to others how I wanted the stage show to be, and the words 'dead porcelain dolls' came up more than once, and at one point, after having described the idea for the stage show one more time, the idea occurred to me that DEAD DOLLS would be an ideal name for an industrial band.
Do you play live?
Currently auditioning potential band members in the Lynchburg, VA area.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet allows some people who would never buy your album in a store to hear samples of your music that might not be possible in other mediums. Also, I've personally met fans of certain bands whose entire exposure to the band's music had been online, and that would have never been possible before the advent of the internet and the widespread use of mp3s.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If I signed with a major label it would have to be on my conditions, as I am nobody's puppet.
Band History:
The band Dead Dolls has been based for the last 6 years in a true center of industrial (plants, that is), Houston, TX. Recently relocated to Lynchburg, VA, Dead Dolls music is a unique blend of goth, industrial & electronica, with an almost operatic feel to the vocals. At present, Dead Dolls consists of one member, Dementia Armand. The vision of this multi-talented singer/songwriter, Dead Dolls promises much in the next few years. The tears that brim in Dementia's eyes as she describes her dream of decadent gothic artistic stage shows and the sound of her rough operatic vocals are enough to rouse a reaction in all who hear her perform. Dementia is looking forward to a long and profitable singing career, believing that there are many out there who will identify with the messages of her music.
Your influences?
With influences ranging from such industrial artists as NIN, Marilyn Manson, Ministry, Skinny Puppy & (Houston-based)Bozo Porno Circus to such dark gothic metal artists as Ozzy Osborne, Glen Danzig & Peter Steele's Type O Negative to such varied artists as Nirvana, Alice In Chains, & Styx, Dementia's range is beyond anything I or you have ever heard before. Favorite spot?
Petoskey, MI
Equipment used:
Boss Dr. Rhythm DR-670 Drum Machine (first album, 1/2 of second album)
PC (Fruity Loops and Audacity rock)
Anything else...?
The Dead Dolls Band Page includes alot of extras which Dementia thought would add to the experience of her music. In order to understand the musician, one must understand how the musician thinks, and, to that cause, Dementia has made herself available for fans to ask questions, make input, submit their links and poetry, contribute to experimental speculative fiction and listen to some music.
