Chris Lonsberry is a songwriter, composer and artist creating music from new age acoustic to electronic to Christian pop/rock.
Why this name?
It was actually pretty much picked out for me before I showed up on this planet.
Do you play live?
I occasionally get to play out but most of my time is spent writing, recording and pitching music.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The Internet is having the same kind of effect on music that electricity had on lighting. Easy access to the high-speed internet connecting people all over the world has opened up an avenue for smaller artists who may not be signed but have such great talent.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'm not really sure. I'd be far more interested in writing for someone who's already signed.
Your influences?
It always comes back to the Beatles but my music also reflects an exposure to country, classical, techno.. crashing guitars AND Motown. I've been spending a lot of time listening to Elvis Costello lately. And, of course, Van Morrison!
