Our goal with our music is appeasment of all genres within our likings, while enjoying it. We have ranges from melodic metalcore, to thrash, to death metal, to experimental hardcore.
Why this name?
I'm so grateful for this part. Our name is just a label...something people know us by. We weren't aiming for a killer name at the time (of course we were in 8th grade) and we ended up keeping a last minute name.
Do you play live?
We play many shows all over Long Island. We play open mic night at the Downtown, we will be playing some real paying shows at the Downtown soon (Between the Buried and Me), Molly Bloom's 1 and 2, Village Pub North and South, all you can eat.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet broadens everyone's opportunities for success. As for MP3 pirating, don't be fooled. You're not tricking the government, most bands distribute music out of their own homes to larger distributors like Amazon. You're not hurting politics, you're hurting the bands. Be cool and buy your CD's.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course. We play music out of pure enjoyment, but what's wrong with making a little money at the same time?
Band History:
Started in 1998 by Mike and Greg, CWS has gone through many shapes and forms of musical influences and writing habits. Kevin joined as our rhythm guitarist in October of 2001 and has stationed himself as lead guitarist once we did a little guitarical genocide. The short man with the curly afro known as Claudio joined the band in February of 2003 as Lead Singer, and later proved himself as rhythm guitarist and now rhythm and lead guitarist. With this line up, CWS has played many a successful show with high comments and enjoyment by all. CWS is one of the true straight ahead metal bands of our area and what we lack in notoriety, we make up with satisfying our areas need for some metal. we write music as much as possible and we're trying to keep fans of all genres satified. we have songs with thrash metal parts, also we have straight up harder rock songs and somewat progessive metal songs. we like to consider ourselves straight up metal Our music ranges from many areas of the heavy persuasion due our wide variety of musical influences. from straight up metal to our progressive tendencies, from grooves to thrash, CWS is constantly expanding their sound.
