tattered hat was a project that started somewhat whimsically and kinda spur-of-the-moment. I have another project (www.soundclick.com/toshiomana) that I was trying to start but didn't quite go where I wanted with this band. I'm not complaining, mind you. I had a lot of fun and some cool tunes came out of it.
Why this name?
lots of stress, anger, blood, spit and other unmentionables, culminating in Chuck looking at Jon's knappy old had and screaming, "TATTERED HAT!!!"
Do you play live?
No - not as a band. We're pretty much dead. Though I'm sure all of us play in different venues/groups/etc. Just wanted to get some of this stuff out there and see what happens. If people wanna buy then great! Otherwise just have fun, dude!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
major labels? those still exist? and, if so, they still sign bands?
Your influences?
Ours were quite a diverse range - electronica, Zappa, Greatfull Dead, Ani, Guns 'n Roses, jazz, classical, Bon Jovi, Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots... I can't recall all of them now...
Anything else...?
Btw. The CD hasn't actually been released quite yet. It still needs to get mastered and then duplicated. If anyone is interested in helping out (financially?), please let me know.
