Why this name?
My last name is Cato. I knew there were others to use the name so I added Mister to mine. In some ways it was to symbolize that it is really my name and not just a character if you will. Its also my way of showing respect to my lineage.
Do you play live?
Yes I perform live. My most recent performances were at The Apache Cafe in Atlanta, Georgia. I enjoy performing live more than anything else. It gives me an opporunity to really convey to the listeners what I'm feeling through a paticular song.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I beleive the internet has changed the music industry quite a bit. However, I don't actually belive all of the changes have been negative. The internet in a lot of ways gave control back to the listeners, who are also the consumers. We have to admit that CD prices had reached an all time high for a moment, when in actuality it takes less money than it did years ago or rather less time. It really depends on who your asking. But as everything else around has advanced more towards the technology side, so has music. The way its made, the way its packaged and the way its sold.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes I would. It would really depend on the specifics of the contract. For as much as control has been given back to the consumers, the same amount if not more has been given back to the artist and producers or if your like myself, Artist-Producer. There is more to bargin with if you will.
