Michael Borkson
I play acoustic guitar/singer/songwriter; I also play 12-string electric guitar (to get that "Byrds sound")and a little keyboard---from the Boston, Mass. area.I wrote all the songs uploaded here except the ones I've notated as cover songs. I like classic rock from the 1960s-70s; main influences are the Moody Blues, the Byrds , and Bob Dylan and I attempt to write in that style.I have recorded several CDs in the studio with a backup band-- drums, bass, keys.I play in free-form settings such as open mics and as a busker in the Boston subway.
Also, being against war and social injustice, I have written songs on those subjects and have performed at some organized protests and events. If you want a free CD , just send me a message here and I'll send you one--music should be free......

Favorite spot?

Anything else...?
STOP THE WARS---HOORAY !! BUSH AND CHENEY ARE GONE!!(put them both on trial for war crimes committed during their 8 years in office) Let's all live in peace, love, and freedom.Obama has given us hope for a better nation.

My acoustic guitar cover of the huge 1985 hit by the Norwegian synth- pop band A-HA. It really needs a bouncy keyboard, but I guess I did ok with just guitar.
My cover of Bob Dylan's kind of obscure song from Nov. 1971(it came out on a 45 single but was never included in any Dylan albums). I went to a Dylan concert in Boston recently; tried to get his autograph but he walked right by the waiting fans .
Song I wrote about the year 1968 in radical politics.1968--2008; 40 years gone by and the same forces of oppression victimize us all--from Lyndon B. Johnson to Bush--Cheney.

Song I wrote about social/political revolution.

A song I wrote after visiting Edinburgh, Scotland once---a bit sentimental.
song I wrote about the 1960s with Camelot symbolism.
This is the first song I ever wrote;way back in 1974. It is not an anti-IRA / Irish song--it was written to criticize the British government, too--criticizing both sides in the violence that existed for so many years in Northern Ireland.
