Brandon Sturiale is a very versatile composer.

His contemporary piano solos have touched many hearts with their tenderness and ability to evoke images and emotion. His debut CD, Midnight Story, is a collection of romantic, haunting piano solos accompanied on select tracks by strings, percussion, and vocals.

On the other end of the spectrum, he has also written music (both vocal and instrumental) for film and TV, stage productions, children, and varying sizes of orchestra.

Currently, Midnight Story is the only item available for purchase. Please visit www.brandonsturiale.com to find out about upcoming events and appearances, learn more about Brandon's background and career, and purchase the CD online.
Do you play live?
I try to stay very active in the music business by playing concerts, musical theatre productions, weddings, and by appearing on the radio. I recently had the honor of playing for Tony Randall's National Actors Theatre, along with Tony Bennett, as well as a solo concert of my original piano works at Danny's Cabaret in New York City.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
A whole new world has opened up to independent artists. I'm happy to say that people as far away as India and Japan have purchased my CD and enjoy my music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Absolutely. However, as a performer, I only play my instrumental piano works (and usually I have a guest singer for a few vocal songs). So, I would be interested in being signed by an instrumental label such as Narada or Windham Hill.

The other songs provided here, however, are either film scores, musical theatre songs, or pop songs that I have written in the hopes of having other artists record.
Band History:
From the bio page at www.brandonsturiale.com:

Brandon grew up in a small town outside of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma called Midwest City.

Soon after receiving a two and a half octave Casio keyboard for Christmas when he was thirteen, he began to display his rapidly expanding talent. He graduated to a larger keyboard, and then eventually to a full-sized piano.

At the age of eighteen, Brandon moved out onto his own, to Austin, Texas. He had already begun composing his own music and playing publicly, sometimes for weddings, sometimes at restaurants and hotels. A few years later, Brandon found himself moving again, this time to Syracuse, New York.

As his confidence grew, so did his proficiency. Fascinated with the idea of telling a story without words, Brandon decided to focus on piano solos. Without a single lesson taken, he self-produced what was to be his first album, Midnight Story.

The album consisted of eleven piano solos with light orchestral background, also arranged by Brandon, as well as a vocal song for which another singer lent his talent. The end result was a beautiful collection of romantic, relaxing music.

Wanting to take his career to the next level, Brandon decided to move to the New York City area. He quickly found many opportunities to perform, and sales of Midnight Story began to rise.

Brandon has also written music for stage productions, children, full orchestra, and has made several radio appearances. He currently divides his time between composing, performing in orchestra pits for musicals, and promoting his CD. He recently had the honor of performing for Tony Randall’s National Actors Theatre at the Plaza Hotel in New York City, along with Tony Bennett, and was the First Prize winner of the Mountain Plains Silent Film Scoring Contest sponsored by the University of Wyoming. He lives just outside New York City, in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Your influences?
My solo piano pieces have been heavily influenced by Jim Brickman and David Lanz, while my pop songs tend to reflect my two favorite songwriters, Elton John and Billy Joel.
Favorite spot?
New York City, of course!
Equipment used:
I prefer Yamaha or Kawai grand pianos.
